Care tips to get the best out of your blooms
Mimesis plants go on giving you joy for a long time. With the right plant care, you can enjoy wonderful blooms for a long time. And that’s not all. Plants make us happy! We are more productive and more creative in a green environment. In addition, plants have the effect of reducing stress and boosting our ability to concentrate.
Orchid
The orchid grows well at temperatures between 15°C and 25°C. Place the orchid in a bright spot, but avoid direct sunlight in the summer months. Watering? Dip the growing pot in a layer of water for 10 minutes once a week. Then let the orchid drain well and put it back in the ornamental pot.
If your orchid is in an arrangement, put two ice cubes next to the leaves twice a week. For optimal flowering pleasure, feed the orchid once a month.
Are you curious whether your Jewel Orchid needs water? Feel the top layer of soil. Is it dry? Then it does like a splash of water. Does it still feel moist? Then you’d better wait a while.
Bromelia
Place the Bromelia in a well-lit spot in the house, away from direct sunlight. Water the plant in the calyx, which is the heart of the plant from which the flower grows. When the water is no longer visible, water the plant again. Their tropical roots make Bromeliads excellent survivors, so they require little maintenance. Bromeliads provide blooming pleasure for an average of 3-6 months!
Want to water your Aechmae? This is one of the few Bromeliads that prefers to be watered through the potting soil rather than in the rosette. The root ball may be slightly moist, but do not have a foot bath.
Have you managed to get hold of a Pineapple plant? This one easily makes cuttings alongside the mother plant. With a little patience and love, a new Pineapple plant can be grown!
Anthurium
The Anthurium prefers to be placed in a place where it is between 20°C and 22°C. Make sure the plant does not get direct sunlight. The Anthurium likes high humidity. So the bathroom is also a good place!
All Mimesis Anthurium from pot size 9 cm upwards are standard provided with a WaterWick. And that ensures convenience! Via the wick, the plant absorbs the right amount of water itself. All you have to do is put the plant in a watertight pot. Fill the bottom with water and the plant does the rest by itself! Make sure the plant is not standing in the water. For example, put stones at the bottom of the pot if you don’t have a tapered pot.
For a botanical anthurium, check the top layer of soil. Is it dry? Then it does like some water.
Spathiphyllum
An air filter in the form of a beautiful and powerful plant, that’s the Spathiphyllum. Highly air-purifying, it flowers abundantly and is also easy to look after. In addition, the Spathiphyllum also has a very long shelf life!
Place the plant in a medium-light or shady spot, but avoid direct sunlight. An ideal temperature is between 15 and 23°C. Keep the soil moist by watering heavily about once a week. A layer of water on the soil is perfect! And add some plant food once a month, that will help keep this powerhouse ultimate long-lasting!
The Spathiphyllum flowers for about four to six weeks and then needs a few weeks’ rest to develop new flower buds.
Azalea
How do you care for the Azalea? Provide enough light, but watch out for too much heat. Then the plant will start hanging limp. So find a nice cool and light spot for your Azalea and water it regularly. Dipping the root ball into a bucket of water is also fine. Azalea likes wet feet, but does not like swimming. And does the plant grow out of the room? Then plant it in a shady, acidic moist soil outside.
